It's me, Bex! Again. I don't have a book buying obsession...honestly! I am linking up with Books, Biscuit and Tea once again for Showcase Sunday! So what have I got this week?
I recently took part in a book swap and so four of these books are from the lovely Sarah from Pookledo. The rules were to choose 3-4 books that you thought the other would love! These are the titles she sent me:
Sleepyhead - Mark Billingham (Goodreads/Amazon) - This really seems like something I would like!
Anne Of Green Gables - L.M Montgomery (Goodreads/Amazon) - I actually own this but seem to have misplaced my copy. Need to re read it to refresh my memory.
Spilling the Beans - Clarissa Dickson Wright (Goodreads/Amazon) - I remember watching Clarissa Dickson Wright back when I was younger on her cookery show, Two Fat Ladies. I never realised she had a book out but I am definitely interested in reading this.
Walking With Ghosts - John Baker (Goodreads/Amazon) - Definitely seems like a book for me! Will be taking this away with me as I believe it will be a quick read for me.
Cured - Bethany Wiggins (Goodreads/Amazon) - I loved the first book so pre-ordered the sequel and it arrived this week! Squee!
Sweet Dreams, Little One (Goodreads/Amazon) - This was sent to me for the purpose of review, a review which will be posted up on my parenting and lifestyle blog, Futures. It seems a very interesting story.

Showcase Sunday
First up is my final win from Goodreads which took much longer to arrive than the others which is Only Time Will Tell - Jeffrey Archer.
I then picked up quite a few Kindle freebies and a couple that I couldn't resist - from L-R:
Deadly Gamble - Connie Shelton | Telling Lies - Cathi Stoler |
Project ELE - Rebecca Gober & Courtney Nuckels | Off The Grid - Dan Kolbert |
Wings Of A Dream - Anne Mateer | Unintended Consquences - Les Lunt |
A Change Of Heart - Adrienne Vaughan | Savor - Megan Duncan |
Night Marchers - Rebecca Gober & Courtney Nuckels | Letters To My Mother - Rebecca Heath | Rumors: A Novella - Erica Kiefer | Heartbreak Trail - Shirley Kennedy |
Who Is Evelyn Dae? - Sarah & Matthew La Fleur | Shucked - Megg Jensen
My final book is Life After Life - Kate Atkinson. I picked this up for the Bloggers Kindle Book Club that I have joined - I am really excited to start reading this in the next couple of days. Why not join us? You can read more about it in Alyssa's post here.

Showcase Sunday
Have you noticed we are now a .co.uk? That's down to Sarah, yay! Here is another Showcase Sunday, linking up with Books, Biscuits and Tea!
For review;
The Whitechapel Virgin by Carla Acheson
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Journey into Whitechapel, London, during 'Jack the Ripper’s,' brutal reign of terror. When innocent Catherine Bell stumbles into the seedy world of Madame Davenport’s brothel lodging-house she meets lothario Edward Cross, who feels his ambitious diary of the Whitechapel area’s prostitutes will benefit favourably with her entry. Catherine soon begins to experience animosity from the women there, as well as mounting fears over Cross’s brutal and strange sexual manner. With nowhere to turn things worsen when prostitutes in the area begin to disappear one by one, only to be found murdered by a ruthless and bloody man. Soon every woman in Whitechapel is terrified and asking, who is Jack the Ripper?
I am a big fan of Jack the Ripper stories so knew I had to say yes to this!
I'm still waiting on a Goodreads win..however, I am sure it will turn up eventually! I made the mistake of counting up my physical TBR pile the other day...so many! I daren't check my Kindle! Saying that, here are some Kindle books I downloaded this week....
After Wimbledon by Jennifer Gilby Roberts
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Joe by H.D. Gordon
(Goodreads/Amazon)
The Ugly Daughter: A Memoir by Julia Legian
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Sara's Game by Ernie Lindsey
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Triton by Dan Rix
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Penny Nickels by Layce Gardner
(Goodreads/Amazon)
Over You by Christine Kersey (Goodreads/Amazon)
The Shadow and the Rose by Amanda De Wees (Goodreads/Amazo)

Showcase Sunday
Yes, it is me again back with another book haul - I know the other girls have been picking up books too - do you want me to get them involved in Showcase Sunday? Here are what I am adding to my bookshelves this week...
Ten - Gretchen McNeil - I received this and read it the day it arrived. This has been on my wishlist for a very long time so I had to finally buy it off Amazon. I loved it but think I would have loved it more had I not read And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie before it. Full review to come soon.
Resist - Sarah Crossan - The second book in the Breathe series, I had to pick it up to find out what happened next. I didn't even realise this was already out until Megan Olivier over on Youtube told me. Oops!
The Girl Who Played with Fire - Stieg Larsson - I read the first in the Millennium Trilogy and loved it but hadn't yet picked up the next two books. I saw the two I needed for 70p each and picked them up as I thought it was such a bargain. They are a little beaten up but it just shows how loved they are!
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest -Stieg Larsson - As before, 70p - it could hardly be passed up!
Beauty - Louise Mensch - I won this from Goodreads the other week. I am not a big fan of Louise Mensch as a former politician however I love her books as Louise Bagshawe so hopefully I will love this and not let my dislike of her as a person overshadow it.
Map My Heart - Dominic Evans- I also won this, this time from Twitter. I wasn't really sure what I had won when they announced me as a winner and this seems interesting at first glance. Almost like a Wreck This Journal but all about love. I love something different so will be interesting to use this!
I am linking up to Books, Biscuit & Tea's Showcase Sunday linky. What have you been reading lately?

Showcase Sunday
Once again, I am linking up with Vicky over at Books, Biscuits and Tea for Showcase Sunday. I also have a ton of Kindle freebies that I downloaded but since there are so many, I am putting them in a separate haul which will go up sometime this week. Anyway, onto the books.
Double Dexter - Jeff Lindsay. This was a present from my aunt who often passes on books when she is done with them. She is the reason I love Martina Cole books and she also has a bag full of my books that she is currently reading through. This looks right up my street as it is the series that inspired Dexter. Whilst I didn't watch all the series, I did love what I watched so am looking forward to reading this. (Goodreads/Amazon)
The Academy: Love Match - Monica Seles. I entered to win this on Goodreads and was lucky enough to win a copy. It didn't even click who the author was! I love the cover and this looks like a fun and easy read. (Goodreads/Amazon)
Hush, Hush - Becca Fitzpatrick. You probably saw in last week's Showcase Sunday that I picked up Crescendo for just a pound so had to order this to start the series off - good old Amazon vouchers. I have wanted this for such a long time so it was a good excuse to finally get it and I can't wait to get to it. (Goodreads/Amazon)
Fury - Elizabeth Miles. I also bought the sequel to Fury for just a pound which led me to ordering this from Amazon. The cover is absolutely beautiful and I can see myself getting sucked into the series - definitely my type of thing! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Think Of The Children - Kerry Wilkinson. Another present from my aunt and another crime novel which has made its way onto my special crime bookcase (Yes, I have a whole bookcase dedicated to it and am running out of room everything is double stacked!). I have never read a book by Kerry Wilkinson before so am interested to see her writing style and whether I get hooked. (Goodreads/Amazon)
As mentioned above, I have also downloaded tons of free Kindle books this week so check back for a haul! Would you be interested in seeing what the other HOEW members have hauled? Let me know!

Showcase Sunday
I'm back again and linking up with Books, Biscuit and Tea for Showcase Sunday! Yet again I have a pile of books but to be fair, they were either free or really cheap! So without further ado, here goes:
Break In - Dick Francis. I was given this by my Nan who had picked it up from her local charity shop for some reason but was never going to read it. She passed it on to me as she thought it would be more my style. I'm excited to have a read. (Goodreads/Amazon)
Under Orders - Dick Francis. Another gift from my Nan. My Dad has read a lot of Dick Francis and has said he is good so once I've finished these, I may have to raid his collection. (Goodreads/Amazon)
The Next Best Thing - Kristan Higgins. This has been on my Amazon wishlist for a while and when I saw it on the 3 for £5 deal in The Works, I had to pick it up. Excited to get to it - I need a little bit of romance for the first time in ages! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Requiem - Lauren Oliver. Well I have the other two books so I needed to get the third! I still haven't read the series though, oops! I will be getting to it very soon though! This was on the 3 for £5 deal at The Works. (Goodreads/Amazon)
Daylighters- Rachel Caine. Another book from the 3 for £5 deal. I had heard good things about this book so thought I may as well pick it up! I know it is mid way through a series but if I like it, I will start from the beginning. Hey, it worked with me and Harry Potter! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Envy - Elizabeth Miles. Another that isn't the first in the series, however I have ordered Fury from Amazon and it should be here soon. I saw this for £1 in Poundland..I couldn't pass it up! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Crescendo - Becca Fitzpatrick. Another sequel BUT this was also £1 and it means that I finally picked up Hush Hush with my Amazon vouchers too!(Goodreads/Amazon)
Wake - Anna Hope. I've also been winning books recently too and actually won this from Vicky, our host for this linky! I loved the premise of the book so entered Vicky's giveaway and thought nothing of it...and lo and behold, I won! I really can't wait to get reading it, it looks really interesting!(Goodreads/Amazon)

I also made the effort to keep track of the Kindle freebies I downloaded this week and amazingly I only downloaded four! Here they are:
Eternally Yours. This is just a free sampler of some romance novels - I thought it was worth a download! (Amazon)
Backwards Compatible - Sarah Daltry. I actually saw someone include this in their Showcase Sunday last week and when I saw it for free on Amazon, I had to download it! It has gone back up to 77p now unfortunately! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Soul Taken (The Life After Trilogy #1) - Katlyn Duncan. Can we just take a minute to appreciate that cover? Simply beautiful! I will admit that the cover drew me in but I loved the premise too and since it was free, who can complain? It's still free now too! (Goodreads/Amazon)
Taxi Delivery - Brooke Williams. When I first saw this, I was dubious but after reading the synopsis, I wanted to give it a go! I'm not religious and apparently this has a lot of religious references in it but I don't mind as it seems like a sweet story. It has gone back up in price now though. (Goodreads/Amazon)

Showcase Sunday
It has been a while since I have written a Showcase Sunday post (linking up with Books, Biscuits and Tea) and although I have gathered a vast collection of new books since then, I obviously could not be bothered to bore you all with them. I will however show you the six books I got this week. I am not counting the Kindle freebies right now because I downloaded SO MANY this week, it is unreal.
First up we have A Commonplace Killing by Sian Busby. I actually picked this up to bring my order over £10 on Amazon (I hate the fact that they have got rid of Super Saver Delivery for items under £10) and I was paying with my Amazon voucher win. The premise looked interesting so thought it would be a nice read.
Next up is of course Crown of Midnight by Sarah J Maas. I read and loved the first book in the series, Throne of Glass so had to pick up the second to see how the story continued. Plus the fact that certain Booktubers keep raving about it meant I couldn't wait any longer.
The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty is another book that has been raved about by everyone and is one that has been on my wishlist for ages now! As I was picking up some other books, I thought it was about time I picked it up to see what all the fuss is about.
It was my birthday on Wednesday and my partner bought this for me as a present from my son: Dan Brown's Inferno. I have books 1-3 in the series and Steve knows how much I love those books - I've read them over and over again. I haven't been able to pick this latest book up due to lack of funds recently so it was a lovely thought.
I was also sent two books to review for Hanging On Every Word and they were Looking for La La and To Catch A Creeper by Ellie Campbell. To Catch A Creeper is out in March and Ellie kindly said me the previous book, Looking for La La so I can truly get immersed in the stories. I can't wait to get to them!
I am planning a couple of Kindle Freebies posts over the next few weeks..is this something you would like to see?

Showcase Sunday #4
I am linking up with Books, Biscuits and Tea.
Mission: Survival Gold of The Gods by Bear Grylls (won from Goodreads)
A Lady Cyclist's Guide To Kashgar by Suzanne Johnson (won from Goodreads)
Dream Street, 31 by Lisa Jewell (won in a blog giveaway)
Natural Causes by James Oswald (won from Goodreads)
11.22.63 by Stephen King (gift from my Mum)
A Time Of Myths by Chris Blamires (won from Goodreads)
Bonds by Marie Ann Cope (won from Goodreads)
The Genesis by K L Kerr (sent for review via Goodreads)
Dream Student by JJ Di Benedetto (sent for review via Goodreads)
Ethan (Brightest Kind Of Darkness #0.5) by P T Michelle (bought)
So I have done well in the book stakes since I last uploaded a Showcase Sunday! I have again done very well for myself on Goodreads, I actually told my fiance that I would do a little test. I only entered a couple of competitions on each page for 5 pages - for books I really liked the look of, and look how many I won from those few competitions..wow! I am still on my month long spending ban - I slipped up a little which you can see on my other blog here but I also slipped up this Friday when I bought Ethan! I loved the first in the Brightest Kind Of Darkness series and really need to get my bum in gear and get to reading Lucid before Destiny (book 3) comes out at the end of July!
I adore Ethan as a character so had to get this little prelude to find out a little more about his life before Nara. I read this within an hour and I really loved it - wished it had gone on longer! I was also sent two books to review via Goodreads, I had entered the competitions but had not been successful and the authors contacted me to see if I would like a copy of their book to review! My Mum also picked up 11.22.63 from a charity shop for me after hearing me go on about it!
I once again have also downloaded a whole load of Kindle freebies, far too many to name right now, and this is an addiction that really needs to stop...oops! I find all my Kindle freebie deals through this site, although they show US deals, they are normally the same for the UK too :)
What new books have you received this week?

Showcase Sunday #3
Considering I am on a book buying ban, I think I did well this week; I've also just realised that I accidentally missed out the rest of the books that I won from Goodreads; I will have to add them to my next Showcase Sunday roundup. Luckily enough, my mum bought me all these whilst we were in town on Friday - thanks Mum!
Bought
I Heart Paris by Lindsey Kelk - 50p from a charity shop - much as I love Lindsey Kelk and have read most of her books, I also don't actually have them all in my collection. When I saw this, I had to have it!
The Suspicions Of Mr Whicher: A Shocking Murder and the Undoing of a Great Victorian Detective by Kate Summerscale - 50p from the same charity shop; keep hearing good things about this book so for that price, why not?
The next four were from a local shop that is kind of a bookshop, kind of a charity shop - not entirely sure what to define it as. It had 3 hardback fictions for £1 and 3 hardback biographies/autobiographies for £1 too - of course, I bought 4 and they were selling hardbacks separately at £1 - should have just picked up 2 extra biographies really!
Dead and Gone by Charlaine Harris - 3 for £1 - Everyone raves about True Blood so I thought I'd see what the fuss was about.
The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell - 3 for £1 - As a big Sex And The City fan, I had banned myself from watching the TV adaptation of this until I had read the book. I picked this up within seconds of walking into the shop!
Hitman by Bret Hart - £1 - You may not know this about me but I am a huge wrestling and WWE fan and am really trying to build up my collection of biographies and autobiographies. When I saw this, I knew I had to have it!
Cell by Stephen King - 3 for £1 - I posted this picture on Instagram earlier and was instantly told that it gave someone nightmares...what have I let myself in for?
What books did you receive this week?

Showcase Sunday #1
I have seen this feature dotted around various book blogs and the idea originally comes from Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. I thought it would be a fun inclusion to the blog, to let you know what books we have received over the past week.
My birthday was the past week and so I was very lucky to receive some awesome books from the Fairy Godmother of books, Lesley at My Keeper Shelf. I currently also guest review for her so was thrilled to not only see some review books but some books from her own shelves that have been on my Amazon wishlist for ages! The lovely lady also bought me some books for my birthday...how kind is she?
(Each link goes to the Goodreads page)
Delirium by Lauren Oliver
Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver
Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion

Just One Day by Gayle Forman
Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry
Unremembered by Jessica Brody (for review)

I also won some fab ebooks too - they've been in my inbox for a couple of weeks but only just found them...eek! I won them from the lovely Heather's blog.

only first cover is shown & linked.
The Grimm Prequels by Cameron Jace
